Is it dying?

I've started to notice that as soon as i take out my power cable, my lappy seems to slow down significantly. Has anyone else experienced this? I'd like to add that I am using speedswith XP to keep my lappy on full throttle.

It don't think it's dying

if it was a battery, you laptop would just work less(time) but not less powerful

If it was a laptop it would be the same no matter what!

it slows down to conserve power.

Note that even if you have Speedswitch set to max on battery, that does not fully solve the dilemma. In fact the Video card also has a power saving feature that throttles down its clockspeed on battery to conserve power too. So set that to max on battery as well as Speedswitch and then you should be hooning like you're plugged in.

what do u mean?

well i always keep everything on high.(in the Powerplay in the GPU settings)

Does anyone know where i can find the definition of the powerschence.

Home/Office = ?
Portable/Laptop = changes depending on what u are doing.
Presentation = ?
Always On = your laptop is running at max speed, and everything is set to never
Minimal Power Management = ?
Max Battery = the laptop says at one clock speed, which is 600mhz
Maxium Battery (Quickset) = ?
Maxium Performance (Quickset) = ?
Network DisableD (Quickset) = ?
Presentation (Quickset) = ?

By the way what is the advantage if any of having quickset installed

Correct me if im wrong.

I seen my laptop go to 300 mhz how does this happen and how can i put it o do this. This would be cool if i can just switch it to like 300 mhz when i want. anyway does anyone have the correct definision to the different Power Schemes.

Yeah, that's what I was talking about, the video power settings are called Powerplay. In hindsight I should have been more detailed and given you directions and the proper name, sorry.
