This notebook looks interesting, and I'm wondering if you can answer a few questions for me

- Is there anything ridiculously proprietary about this notebook?
You cannot use any WLAN Card... Only ones specified by HP.. Even an Intel 2200BG wont work except it comes from HP.

- Could I put a 4200 RPM drive in it?
Sure

- Does it come with a standard OS installation disc for WinXP? (ie.: NO recovery crap)
It's a real Windows XP... No recovery

Hmhp, well...as long as they aren't outrageously more expensive than the standard Intel cards...
