Omega just released their version of cat2.6 downloading them now. I'll post and see if I notice any difference, the 2.5's don't seem to like the newest update for ut2k4 so i'm hoping these will help.

Omega Cat 4.6

Omega's got a new site as well, same address, looks great.

Don't know about dvd's but divx and other video files seem to work like normal.

Running AverTV in Overlay mode with the omegas is really screwy, makes the video super choppy. Same with DScaler.

I havn't had any trouble with the Omegas, though I did have some problems with the stock Cat 4.6 drivers not reseting my color preferences when exiting games. I don't have any trouble playing videos though.

Maybe it's just me, but when I run the ATI driver that come with the 8790 I have no problems with video of any type. I load the Catalyst or Omega Drivers and video playback goes to choppy or freezes. I still get audio playing while the video is choppy or frozen. Games play with any of the drivers fine.

No you are not the only one Freejack. I have the same video playback problem with new Cat 4.6 driver.

I'm also getting choppy playback now

I've been using the Omega drivers on my 4780 for quite a while now (through several different versions). I used my 3DMark scores to gauge the difference between them. Up until now, my scores have all been nearly identical.. in the 2970 range. After installing these new ones, I'm up to 3015, which is great.

I haven't had a chance to watch any videos or DVDs or anything to see if there's any choppiness though.

I have no problems with the Omegas 2.5.51 Version. I've been using them all day. No choppiness on DVD's or DVD's copied to the hard drive. I aslo have no problem playing the sample HD Movie from here at 720p but the 1080p are choppy and have been with the last few drivers I've used.

ok, anyone else here experience this phenomenon? Every time i change brightness, contrast, or gamma in far cry, the game always freezes.I'm using Omega 2.5.51. I'm wondering if this is happening across the board, or just something thats a sole issue with my laptop?

-------------> can you change the settings using omega 2.5.44 without freezing the game?

I went back to the Drivers that came with the laptop and everything works great again. I think they are missing some mobility 9700 optimizations in the Omega and Catalyst by default.

I can verify the choppiness with media files...can't watch any of the GI Joe toons from Ebaum's. Havn't tried a game or dvd yet, but this combined with the TV problems are enough to sour me to the drivers. Guess I'll go back to the 4.5s and wait for the 4.7s.

Just tried one of those videos at 1080p and it is definitly choppy, very choppy, its more like still frames than motion.

I have the 9700 256mb I run a res of 1680X1050, I use my real estate. If I can't what good is the driver?
With these latest drivers and using the ati 9700 / 256mb card, video plays choppy. I rolled back to omegas last driver set, which plays fine.

Yea i'm going to be going back as well. The previous omegas worked perfectly. I've been having some problems playing baldur's gate II now. No frame rate issues though, just some odd glitches.

Anyone know where I can get the old ones? The ones based off of 4.5. I Checked omegacorners.com but there's only one link and it's dead.
