omega's cat 2.6 - Page 2

Using Omega 2.5.44 now and City of Heroes is artifacting like a mofo with or without oc'ing.
At least it finally identifies the Mobility Radeon 9700 properly.... ok maybe that's not much consolation after all.

Link at Megagames to get Omega Cat 4.5 version http://www.megagames.com/news/show.c...ion=downloads&

When I installed the regular Catalyst 4.6 my video got real bad, like a slide show, and the colors didn't reset when I exited games. So for now I'm back to the 4.5. Guess I'll wait till 4.7 :-/

Do you imagine that ATI will release a hot-fix since this patch apparently sucks (judging from all your posts) ? I know that if I were ATI I'd release a 4.6.5 or something since this sounds like a widespread problem, therefore a f00k-up on their part.

the 4.6 drivers work better on my desktop than on my 8790, i can run KOTOR again on my puter, so they r better for desktops, not so good for lappy's

ATI puts the responsibility of mobile drivers on the Laptop maker (OEM). It's a good thing there are places like Omega or having consistent modded drivers would be harder to come by. PC Torque and other OEM's will put out good drivers for a while but as new models come along they don't have time to make them for older models. Even Dell which has lots of man power to put to use to make drivers does not put out modded drivers within a week of the ATI or Nvidia ones. Unless Dell has changed that in the past couple of years. With the move from Desktops to more Mobile systems you would think that ATI and Nvidia would at least put out basic mobile drivers that anyone can download.

It's sager not pctorque. Also ATI comes out with driver every month now so there realy isn't any reason for them to make a "hot fix." Just wait untill july and maybe they'll have the problem fixed.
