I just spent the entire afternoon making this badge/logo for my cl56.

The hard part was centering and cutting everything out perfectly....

O well, this is what it looks like now, it's still a bit crooked, but I'm going to try my best to make it look perfect

not bad for a first try, see what i mean

hehe thanks...all though I'm still not entirely satisfied with the black behind the engraved plate.

How To?

I have a powernotebook CL56. What the best way to remove the sticker w/o damaging anything? Blow Dryer? Just Grip-it-and-rip-it ? Thx, Eso

the way i removed my badge was just lift, and gently pull it off. I accidently used a screwdriver with a little bit too much force taking it off that it made a little scratch on the inside of the badge slot..

thanks and thanks.

heres the one I made myself

aw come on rince you can be more creative than that...try etching it
post #51 of 78
well what would I write on it?

Rincewinds laptop?

I like the black color there because it matches the other black parts of the notebook... the grain/texture of that plastic logo is the same as the plastic casing of the rest of the laptop... its neat, looks like it really belongs there

I had the hardest time making the sides straight. I didn't even round out the corners...

draw a picture or something, emulate those designs

jeff what i did was i had a sheet paper of this plastic material and i put it under a cutting board (at kinkos) u know one of those lever type cutting boards where u can line it up against a straight edge/etc

to round out the corners i just used some sharp scissors and trimmed the corners slightly.. took a few tries but it fit perfect

hey rince, does your laptop's wireless indicator light flash blue for a split second every time you boot your laptop? I'm wondering if there's a dual color mode that's present inside there.
yea when i power on it blinks blue for a second

i never see it again after that
