Hopefully this will work!

Here are a few quick pics of my new x31

Don't laugh at my messy desk! It's been a long day, especially considering I've spent the last 2 hours just playing with my new computer as opposed to actually working!

ironic that it is designed for windows XP yet doesn't have a windows button...damn for 1300 canadian...i envy you like you couldn't imagine

very nice, but honestly though, if u put all the ibms in a line up, i wouldn't be able to tell the difference between them. they all look the same. perhaps by size maybe, but generally they all look the same right?

Same old design with every thinkpad, i think that ibm multicolor logo is ugly. I would't get that for me because its expensive, ugly and all models are bit behind comparing to new laptops.

Buuuut.... Nice pictures

If I wasn't able to get the HUGE discount on the x31 I probably wouldn't have gotten it....only because I wouldn't spend that much on a computer!! But I'm so far VERY pleased with it! Everyone was right in saying that IBM's are really solid feeling...it may not be as flashy as some of the others, but having a computer that actually works is more important to me!!

congrats on a purdy notebook. But, im interested in a T41 and wanted to know what kind of discount u got, do they have a first time buyer discount, educational etc.

if ure talking abt OS's then most of the new ones support the windows key
eg. the RH 9.0 that i am running.

The idea being that since conventional desktop keyboards have that key and if ure not a "OMG-where's the mouse" kind of fellow on a desktop u get used to it.

the older models of the other manufacturers did not have this key as well, but they've at least shown the intelligence to adapt

maybe IBM wants to give its lappies the mainframe look

IBM believes it actually throws the correct ergonomics off with having the windows key. That is what I've been told.
