i've been using vpc 6.1 with my powerbook 12". and i have to say that its quite slow. i tried windows 2000, 98 and xp...
i would definitely use 2000 since it is the fastest out of the 3. i think the performance in vpc is about equivalent or a little bit faster than my old celeron 400mhz computer.
but the good thing is that if the exact program isn't offered in mac, the majority of the time if its a really popular windows program--> there will be a mac equivalent that does exactly the same thing. so i'd definitely look around... the only reason why i use vpc is that i have a few old pc programs that i don't have the $$$ to buy mac versions of yet.
my 12" gets about as warm or even less than the IBM centrino i have under normal usage. but if i fire up some games or do something that requires heavy usage, the machine does get a little hot, but not more than any other small notebook.
hey ezekel! glad to see you got the 12" Powerbook! how do you like it?
