Low Framerate in DVD Playback

Hello

I tried playing DVDs on my 8790. (3.2 Northwood , 1024 ram , 60 gb 7200 rpm ). It lags so much. Framerate is aweful and naturally this produces sound to be out of sync. Image is fine though. Anyone ever had the same problem.
I have the toshiba 4x drd+-r/rw Tried PowerDvd 5 , WinDVD ( The one that came with the 8790, Windows Media Player ).

The movies are Xmen 2 bought from the store and Lord of the Rings on a DVD+R Memorex Media. Both work fine on my desktop so I know it s not the dvds.

Best Regards.

Latest Omega, PowerDVD.

Installed only the drivers that came with the Unit ( 8790 )
Have the latest Omega Drivers.

I tried reducing the visual performance in Control Panel/ System/Advanced/Performance/Settings and set it to lowest. This has made the framerate better in fact it's normal now. There is however a very slight unsync of the sound. I also noticed that when I switch to my TV display using FN and the given f key the framerate dramatically drops.
Thanks Conpalo

Use the omega 4.5 drivers I had the same issue and went back to that driver and everything works great now.

after trying all of the drivers i went to the omega site and downloaded the driver cleaning program. i installed it and used it to clean all of the drivers junk. to my surprise i saw stuff that i don't even see it before. i then reinstalled the cd drivers & utilities that came with the 8790. i tweaked a little bit on the settings and now i have a good not the best scores on both 3dmark03 and 3dmark2001se and play dvd ok.

i thought about using the omega 4.5 but i changed my mind and used the cd drivers & utilities instead. i will wait for the next omega that i heard will be released soon. hopefully it will fix the dvd problem.

I had same problems running the Omega 2.5.51 with the chop on the DVD playback. Reinstalled the ATI drivers from the Sager driver disc and back to normal on DVD playback. Must be something in the new Omega drivers not working correct for Mobility and DVD.
