Okay. I give up! I installed the drivers for the infrared port on the M6809. Only thing is, I have NO IDEA where the damm IR port is LOCATED on my machine. (I feel REALLY DUMB) for having to ask, but Im on the road and dont have the manual with me!

Thanks.

P.S: I use the IR port (or I should say I WANT to use) for transfering files between my laptop and my NEC Mobilepro 780 (A VERY kick butt little machine by the way!)

lol, well if you have anything that captures video (i.e. lcd display on digital camera, video camera...etc.) look at your laptop with it on all sides. You'll immediately know if something is ir when it shines back into the device you use to capture video with. Usually, it flashes a blue-like flash that flashes in intervals

Hmmm....Nothing seems to be shining back at me!

Does anyone with an M6809 use the IR port (if it even has one.) It has to have one, it shows it does!

I remember that I read somewhere in the forum that the Gateway M505 does not have an Infrared. Just to let the owner of a Gateway M505 who does not know, well it does have an Infrared and it is located in front of the optical drive.

I have a M505XL and it has an infrared, so I assume the M505x have one too.

The 6805 dosn't have an IR port so I bet the 6809 dosen't have one.

M505X has infrared. I have one.
M505XL has infrared. Why not?

Its on the front on the DVD/CD-RW/DVD-RW drive to the right.

I looked everywhere on the internet, and I have not seen an infrared port for the M6805/M6809. It may be there in software, but software means nothing without hardware to back it up.
