8790 Painted Summit Silver (first look)

I've barely got anything set up and installed yet, but I said I'd get a pic or 2 up for those that wanted to see the color.

Here are some pics...

I don't think anything could do it justice though. It really is a beautiful paint job (thanks PC Torque). The high gloss feel is really nice to the touch too... almost like a new car.

First pic out of box closed

Closed reflection

First pic open on powered

More to come eventually. I got some things to figure out first. Great paint job though... no flaws I can detect.

Also.. no dead pixels either!!

man they even painted the fan grills and the cd-rom ? I saw the Hypersonic ones and they dont paint those. man im regretting not getting mine painting now. Beautiful laptop you have there. Enjoy!!!! Post more pics, a lot more, when you have the chance. Man I wish I could send mine in to pctorque so they could paint it.

Looks great!

Very nice....

Enjoy, it definitely seems like $500 is a really good price to pay for the absolute quality of work these guys do. Lot of money, but you get more than you paid for.

it seems to me that hypersonic-pc is doing a better paint job ..

conpalo that "the next one:" the setup under that do you know when that might be available?
ehehehehehehe .. the next one is the one that i predict NOT the actual one but i don't think that i 've gone too far from that. there is a web site named euro .. something .. that already is selling the amd64 ..
eurocom.com?

i've checked it out
configured a amd64 3200+ and it comes out less then what a 8790-s would cost me

but haven't really heard of the company does anyone konw about it?

Compare the price to the 4780 as that is what it really is, except it has an AMD processor.

Compare the 8790 from that organization to PC Torque and you will quickly see my opinions about it.
sagar is going to be putting the amd proc in the 4780?
It will be called the 4750. August is the expect release date (I think). My point was that you were accomplishing a price comparison on the wrong model. The 8790 has much more than the 4780 and the 4780 equates the closest to the one you were looking at.

laptop shopping is to hard
let put it this way ..

- amd64 3200+ vs 8790-s 3.4 northwood
- 4-in-1 vs 7-in-1
- 640x480 vs 300k
- 128mb 9700 vs 256mb 9700
- $2691 vs $2452

the amd64 is nice
not sure what to do now
been searching for so long but dont know
why don't you list of what you like and post it here so that people can help you better ..
for example: 15.4" or 17" , amd64 or intel, and the most important thing is what are you going to use it for (school, games ...) ... and your budget ..

right now the 8790 has everything i want ( battery life is a lil low for only 1 hour) but its got everything i want so far. i was just wondering if i should wait it out till sagar has a amd64 model in the lineup
