Does anybody have a way with the 8887 to capture into true SVCD MPEG2 format that can be burned to an SVCD?

I believe it is just captured from the tv turner software as a mpeg2 format and the cd burning software will right it to vcd format on the cd.

VCD is fine. I'm talking about SVCD (MPEG2).

just capture with your software comes with your ATI, ot any, on mpeg, and burn it with the plug-in from NERO, so you will be able to burn your SVCD so.

I think the crux of the problem here is in the fact that nothing captures "into true SVCD" format.

You will likely have to convert into SVCD, so therefore, any NLE or editing application that supports SVCD should do the trick. Of course there will be loss (there always is when converting), but it will be negligable, I'd bet.
