ATTN: Hypersonic buyers

Thread Starter
For those of you who have purchased a notebook, any notebook, from Hypersonic, and had the OS pre-installed and configured, what is the extent of this service, do they include any unnessecary programs like AOL promos or anything, and was the $100-179 worth it in your opinion as opposed to purchasing a copy of XP and installing it yourself? I don't think I have a copy of XP lying around, and even if I do it is the Home edition, and I want Pro. To upgrade to the Pro, it is like $199 at Best Buy (I know you can get it for atleast half that off the web, but are those even relatively respectable?) Thanks for the help guys

I have the pro on my machine. you get a super clean install with no 3rd party apps. they also have all windows updates and latest drivers done. another goodie is the recovery dvd you get with the OS.

Standard OS install and nothing but Nero OEM that was extra... that's it! Very clean....

I want to reiterate what others have stated, it is a very clean install. Also, it came with the Windows OEM disk and manual, so you don't have to just use the recovery dvd to reload your system.

Personally, I chose to buy my own OEM copy of Win XP Pro for ~$100 and save a few bucks. After doing a base install + patches, I'll Ghost my own image(s) to DVD.

Clean install with standard OS (WinXP Home) with all updates and updated drivers.
