As many of you know, I have decided on getting a 3000 model from Compaq, whether it is the AMD system or the Intel system I still hadn't really decided until this evening. Just about every place on the net I have gone to check out reviews, 99 percent of all the sites are giving the AMD series almost 5 stars, more like 4.75, and this is over the 3000 models that have Intel in them. I even went as far as to read reviews for the 64 3000+ model that Circuit City is selling, over 90 percent of the reviews were raving the system with AMD verses Intel. So after this week of intense reviews, I think I have finally decided on getting the R3000Z Presario, but it will be configured and not pre-built sitting on a store shelf. I want a 64MB video card, I want the 3400 processor and I certainly want the better screen, no WXGA screens for me
I have configured it as I said with a Athlon 64 3400+, 512 memory (1 dim), 40GB, 4X DVD+R+RW/CDRW combo drive, 64MB video, WSXGA 15.4" display, 54G wireless, 12 cell lithium ion battery (no floppy who needs em?) and I can get everything for under 1600 bucks! I still can't believe that, the price can't be beat. The stores version that is selling right now has less powerful hardware and is only about 100 bucks less, thank god for configurations!
Thanks for reading.
