Firefox questions

Thread Starter
I have been recently using firefox for a while and i do like the browser but i want it to work like IE. i am sure i may have to ask another question again but for right now i want to know how can i make certain menus pop up? For example if one goes to starwars.com site and let the mouse cursor hover over the menus on the left side, a pop up will appear with more options. How can i get firefox to do this?
Also i noticed in the bottom right hand corner of the status bar is a little icon stating there is an update available even though i already downloaded it. How can i get rid of it?
thanks
any help is appreciated

I went to starwars.com and didn't see any menu pop-up, nor do I know where they should be. HOWEVER, add "starwars.com" to the exclude-list of pop-up blocking.

Tools -> Options -> Web Features (tab) -> Add Site (button).

Or turn off blocking altogether and see if that works. Also, many game-like sites focus on IE-only support, so it's not 100% HTML / Java coding, but a bastardization that IE allows/uses.

Not sure about the icon in the bottom right, I don't have one. Are you using FireFox 0.9 from a FRESH install? Do not install a new version over an old version (and remember to export your bookmarks before upgrading).

(I was going to say: in order to make firefox more like IE, simply work slower)
