nother idear

1. kill your cousin
2. hire a lawyer, sue ibuypower and get out of that murder charge.
3. hire a hitman, kill lawyer and all the ibuypower employes.
4. repeat steps two and three until desired results.

I don't know what everybody’s problem is. Yeah he should keep the computer and send the dell back but if he canceled the order then it should have been canceled. From what he's saying he did so before it shipped. Once he got the email saying that it "has been shipped." He called and told them that he had already canceled the order. They tell him to refuse the shipment and he won't have to pay. Well it would have been nice if he could have done that but he wasn't and it’s not his responsibility to pay $40 dollars for ibuypowers mistake. They messed up and shipped an item that should not have been shipped. Yeah $40 dollars isn't much but after you drop $1500 or more on a laptop it adds up especially if you had to really work and save to get that laptop. So I think that he has a valid complaint. It would definately piss me off however I think the biggest lesson here is to know what you want before you order it. If your walking into a retail store you can afford to but and try or to get something that you aren't sure of but when you are dealing with online stores most of them are somewhat shady and definitely fight you on returns.

yes that is the moral of the story. Which is part of the reason why I am buying locally. However, in his case we can say, think twice, click once. Once you've ordered, cancelling isn't that easy. In fact, hypersonic has a cancellation fee I believe...

Many companies have special cancellation policies that makes the consumer at fault when a cancelled order is shipped. This may be the case here. Perhaps iBuyPower requires a customer to follow up with a cancellation within 48 hours or something to that effect. By these policies it becomes the customer's fault for a cancelled order that shipped anyway.

exactly... and it's not my money either.. it's my moms =/.. and she started to cry when she heard she owed $3000 >.<.. I e-mailed them 5 times... 1 saying it's their fault, and most others just cussing every few words... but since it's unopened i called and then FINALLY one of their 3 reps i talked to says I can send it back for a refund and he gave me a RMA #... and I think I'm going up to FedEx today for free shipping to say I refuse this shipment and to return to the sender... would I need to provide the RMA or not? Cause all I'm doing is returning.. I don't wanna return it and they forget about it.. and I don't wanna get a lawyer because my mom has already got a ****load of stress on her...

I bought an apple ipod from apple.com along with an attachment microphone

I later found a better microphone for sale at bestbuy and got that locally.

By the time my ipod + acessories came, I realized I did not need the attachment microphone.

I called apple and told them I dont need the microphone anymore and that its unopened and if I could return it.

They said thats fine, but I'd have to pay for the return shipping charge..

I think this warrants a "APPLE.COM DO NOT BUY!!! ALERT!! ALERT!!! >_<" thread

ROFL 0wned. Although you can sympathize with him, a microphone isn't worth 1500.

Edit: also, you didn't cancel your order

I think the moral of this story is that $40 is a small price to pay to cover for your mistake and potentially save yourself $1500.

have ur mum pay the minumum amount (it'll prolly be a hundred bucks or so)

than wait until the next month when you get your 1500 refunded

than have your mum pay off the original budget you told her ur laptop would be (1500)

this of course will work unless she used AMEX (got to pay in full every month)

i think she uses AMEX.. I mean.. she called Discover and they said she owed $3000 by the 26th of this month or 20% interest

...that's screwed up buddy...switch to visa or mastercard...
why didnt she wait until the ibuypower thing was over and done (as in money refunded to card and everything) before she purchased the dell for you? That way she wouldnt have $3000 over her head.
20% interest is the APR. She won't accumulate that much in the a matter of a few days. Interest should be calculated daily.
