You mean the green hills with the letters "e-machines"? I thought that was creative ...

Yes, I would like a free widescreen wallpaper too, stupid people like digital blasphemy charge you...

DeviantArt.com is a good place for Wallpapers...

1280x800 is really hard resolution to find wallpaper for. Most displays are not widescreen so people never do a widescreen version.

Just find some that are 1280x1024 and trim the bottom off or find some big ones and scale them down in a third party app like Photoshop (Better quality than Windows).

DigitalBlasphemy is evil now.

thanks entz. the site is great. there are alot of nice digital pieces and the resolution on alot of them is ginormous!

Well I stopped exploring DigitalBlasphemy, not because of the Pay factor (I understand why the guy charges), but I got sick of "Space" and "Nature" themed wallpaper in their free User submitted section. After months of Planets and Trees, it kinda gets old and boring. What I also noticed was there is a serious lack of widescreen wallpaper, and it would be worse if it wasnt for Apple starting the Widescreen Revolution.

What little larger-than-XGA and widescreen wallpaper I found, I saved to my PC. So far I just picked one and stuck with it and really havent seen the need for the 8 others.

If you wish, I will be happy to share what I found with you all. I have a sweet Halo one I tweaked for widescreen.

I just find wallpapers for large desktops like 1280x1024 and higher, then selectively crop them to fit my 1280x800 resolution.

There's a lot of wallpapers made for the 15" Powerbooks, but for some odd reason, their screen ratios aren't the same as ours. I think it's 1280x854 or something like that.

P.S. I just found that I do the same as Entz. Sorry for the "me too" post.

Not much selection in the HDTV/Widescreen section though. While there is some, none if it is to my liking.

widescreen wallpapers

Hi - I am a new member and ever since I boought a new 17" laptop i have been interested in widescreen wallpapers, hence my arrival here. Like one of the above posts I was a bit dissapointed in all the abstract types or muscle girls with sword widescreen wallpapers. So I made a few for myself, just the same as I had when I had an 800 by 600 screen. Anyway, I started posting them to the web and now get a lot of visitors for widescreen wallpapers. I'm trying to get new ones up every week or other week but it is hard since I now am contratced to do animated film work (16 hour days). So help yourelves, or if you have original ones let me know and I'll take a look and post em on my site. The wallpaper section (widescreen version) are mostly on this page http://www.flashfast.com/wallpaper/wallpaper_2.html, be patient - adding more all the time, Long live widescreen!!!!

Thanks

It's not the 'perfect' place for wallpapers, but thanks, I appreciate the comment. It would be perfect if I had time to get some more screen sizes up there (maybe when i finish my projects).

Thanks

J

But water doesn't ALWAYS expand when its cold. If you suddenly cool purified water you can actually have the temperature below 0 degrees Celsius and it still be liquid. (Supercooled Water)
can i use that to water cool my computer?
Well, it takes alot of energy to Supercool water, and I dont think it is possible to implement that into the inside of your computer case.

Themexp

Try Theme Xp. www.themexp.org I believe. They have tonnes of sweet walls in all shapes and sizes.

If you were to use supercooled water to cool your computer, the moment you turned on the pump, the water would probably crystallize, expand, break all your pipes and leak water all over your motherboard. Sounds good.
