I was stuck over whether to get the 5690 or the 8790 the last few months.
But I finally made up my mind last night at around 11pm EST and ordered
the 8790 from PCT with these specs:
Display: 17" WSXGA+ LCD (WideScreen
Processor: P4 3.0GHZ Northwood CPU
Video: 256MB ATI Radeon Mobility 9700 (M11)
RAM: 512MB 400DDR Dual Channel (2-256MB)
Main Hard Drive: 60GB 5400RPM
Media Drive: 4X DVD+R/-R/RW/CD-RW
NTSC TV Tuner and Remote + 8 Cell battery
Operating System: No Operating System
Wireless Network: Internal 802.11g TURBO (108Mbps) wireless
Bluetooth: Internal Bluetooth
I'll let you guys know when it arrives and what i think about it.

). Just need to see if we'll be selling my current laptop or not. (Might be selling my Compaq to my in-laws as a favor. If that happens, I'll need a new laptop. If not, then maybe next year.
