8790 Power Supply - SO LOUD!!!

I just received my 8790 from PC Torque a few days back.

Right away I noticed that the power supply had a little noise going on. I just kinda ignored it and kept playing. The noise sounds like a high pitched electricity squeal... (that's the best I can describe it) and it is pretty constant.

I had purchased a second power supply so I switched to that one... It is even louder.

Anyone know what the deal with this is?

I have a power supply with the built in fan and one without the fan.
Both are silent.
I'd call sager for replacements.

Mine has always had this electrical sound in it that carries over some times to the laptop itself. The sound differs depending on whether I am dragging with the mouse or loading a program or idle. Usually, it sounds like it is a beating electrical heart, with the pulses about .9 seconds apart. It's about as loud as a ticking clock on the wall, but not as lound as typing on the keyboard. Perhaps it has something to do with the power system *inside* the laptop?

Perhaps when I upgrade the screen (this screen also flickers on maximum brightness), I will also RMA the problem. I wonder if I'll be able to go back to my 8500 for the two to three weeks it's in the shop?

I'm still waiting to receive my Gigabyte router from Sager, which I RMA'ed on June 7th. That makes it 16 days out of my hands and most likely 13 days in the shop. I somehow wonder were the quality standards have gone?

Freestyle, if you do ask for a replacement, please let me know how it goes.

Well... It may have just been a setteling in thing, because the one that was loudest has been completely silent for the last day.

I'm keeping an eye on it, but it seems fine now.
