I'm just a little confused. Is there a "s-vid in" on the 5667, or does this feature rely on the tv-tuner?

Thanks.

First and foremost...

there is no 5667 - there was the 5660 and now there is the 5670.

About S-Video :-

the 5xxx series all have S-Video OUT but no S-Video IN
the 8xxx series all have S-Video OUT and S-Videon IN as well...

Hey y'all,

I've been lurking awhile, trying to figure out what notebook I want to get. One of the things I want to do is convert old VHS tapes to DVD. Does the 8887, with it's s-video input, do real-time MPEG 2 encoding of analog video input signals? Is it possible to burn directly to DVD, like the Sony "Click to DVD" thingie?

Here's hoping so- it will make my decision a whole lot easier! (<----I just love that dancing banana!!!)
