Doh!

It is about 1 month after I recieved my CL 56...and just tonight I noticed a stuck pixel in the center of the screen!

I noticed it while Anarchy Online was loading and there was this 1 stuck pixel (lit blue) on a black screen. I'm slightly upset that I never noticed this before...is it possible for a dead/stuck pixel to just show up over time?

I guess the only decent thing is that the stuck pixel is only noticeable on dark screens.

i heard that powernotebooks had a fairly aggressive dead pixel policy maybe if you get a bunch you can call them and ask for a replacement

same thing here, i didn't notice a dead pixel on my laptop until 2 weeks after i got my laptop, right in the middle as well, its a blue one, so noticable only in a black background, usually when watching a movie, otherwise i don't see it. i called asus right away and they told me that they would try to locate a replacement lcd if they had one, no guarantees though, maybe a deal pixel somewhere else. but i haven't done anything yet, i'm still needing my laptop for work, so no time. i'll guess i call asus up next week and see if they can still work something out.

axemanxt40: did u get your sleeve yet? aren't going on a trip soon? i got mine on tuesday.

DT34 I just got back from my trip yesterday...and I did receive my laptop sleeve on Sunday...the sleeve is great and it served its purpose.

I suppose I need my laptop to generate 4 more dead or stuck pixels so that I can call powernotebooks.com and get a free replacement. However, I will probably call them today to see if they can do anything about it now with my current one . If I went Hypersonic I'd be able to return the laptop for a replacement screen .

did you run the dead pixel test?

I thought powernotebooks had a dead pixel check where they will turn on your laptop to check for any b4 they send it out?

Dude I've had the laptop for a month now...and I ran the dead pixel test when I recieved it. Nothing was there...however a month later a stuck blue pixel popped up in the center of the screen (against dark colored backgrounds).
