Benchmarks Seem Low?

post #1 of 9

After having several probs with my new Area-51m upon recieving it, I have finsished formatting and restoring it and just ran the Benchmarks. I'm not real familiar with the scoring still so thought I would post for feedback. Do these seem low or are they on par. No OC'ing

3Dmark03 = 3046
CPU Score = 470

PCmark04 = 4192

All drivers are the latest version's available but marks are still low and performance is lacking..

Make sure you have everything set to performance instead of quality. Also check that power saving features are disabled, or as low as possible. the 5700 should churn out around 3100 marks on 3Dm03, so you're right on track.

Your CPU score looks a little low, I think mine was around 580 or so...so check the power saving features to make sure you aren't starving the processor.

New Scores

OK, Disabled some services and a few other minor tweaks.

3Dmark03 = Dropped to 3024

But, my CPU Score jumped nicely to 590... where is the middle ground? and how could I raise my overall score without overclocking the hell out of my GPU

Actually, there isn't much you can do to OC the 5700. Talk to Hunt about this, he had the same problems with the 5700. The card automatically "overclocks" itself based on load, but there isn't any decipherable way to disable that feature...so you are kinda stuck at the clocks that the card chooses. I hear the 5700 isn't very OC'able anyway...

i have the same problem but diffrent specs. 9600 and 3.0GHz. i got latest drivers 4.7 desktop version drivers and XP SP2. my scores are 11k 3dm2001se and i didnt run 2003 yet i ran b4 when i first got the computer. i can barley run fraps recording in COH i get -1 i think fps real low. and i looked on the 3dmarks search and compare and there are ppl with 9600s that have 14k in 2001.
