That burning dell logo is sweet. Looks good streched on 1920x1200
post #22 of 292
I designed it for widescreen, and must look good in any screen with 16:10 proportion; windows bootscreen use a 640x480 picture, and expand it to fill all the screen.
post #23 of 292
can you post the bmp version of the bootscreen up here
We will love to have it
post #24 of 292
Of course:

The kernel can be found here:

http://www.angelfire.com/mech/dell/dell.sfx.rar
(tip: if you dont have winrar rename dell.sfx.rar to dell.sfx.exe and execute it to extract the kernel dell.exe)

Installation: copy dell.exe (the extracted file) to windows\system32

Edit the boot.ini (found in c:\) and add a line like:
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Dell" /kernel=dell.exe /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

The boot.ini will look like this:
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Dell" /kernel=dell.exe /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

I want that loading screen so badly for my notebook... The plain windows one has gotten so old. I tried editing boot.ini but I got an error when trying to use that kernal. Probably because of the spanish version issue. I need an english one for XP Pro. Any way you can hook me up?

I have the same screen than you, the samsung wsxga+, but the resolution of the bootcsreens is only 640x480, so this bootscreen fits to all screens with 16:10 format.

Yeah it works, but the Flaming Dell logo doesn't appear... it's just the plain windows loading screen. Not sure if you've implemented the Flaming Dell yet but yeah, that kernel works.

I have verified it and works perfectly; I do not know where can be the problem...

Dell i9100 Wallpaper

Here's the wallpaper that came on my i9100. It looks like it's cut out of foam or something.

It's 1024 x 768

Here's a MR9800 wallpaper. I took one of the MR9700 pics and overlayed it with the MR9800 logo.

The Jpeg is about 350Kb and is 1920x1600.

Just right click on the pic, and then click "Save Picture As" to save it to your computer.
