I see what you mean. Well i think i will probably either go with the upcoming sager 4750 (clevo d470k) or the 15" version that clevo is coming out with, or the clevo d400k. Targa does look awesome especially with the bundled software it comes with. However i live in the us. and can't read german. i should have taken that rather than french.

I live in italy but i can't read german neither... I do a lot of guessing! Luckly for us an Athlon64 M2800+ doesn't translate into something like... "Athlesinburg Onismeier 64 bitten auch der mobilen 2800 plus prozessorfrequenz" it just stays that way! Anyway It's getting late in here (3,22 Am !!) goodnite guys!!!!

Lol. Although I bet it would take forever to fix a computer and ship it back. Like 2 weeks or more. And dealing with tech support (hopefully never) would be an earopener.

would you want a pentium 4 3.8ghz 800FSB 3gig ram ( i know about XP limitation) or an AMD 64 FX57 2.8ghz (same above specs) for a notebook computer, for gaming and power use..

Which one, and Why?

Honestly, I think your graphics card is going to matter more than your proc. P4 or AMD64 either one will probably do the job. I have an AMD64 that runs fine and never gave any trouble, but it's not the reason my desktop is so fast. It's my 1GB or Dual Channel DDR and 128mb GeForce 6800 video card that makes it a good rig for games and graphics. If you get a good video card, your proc isn't going to matter nearly so much.

That being said, you mentioned raytracing. I guess it depends on the raytracer. I've used POVRAY before, and it doesn't use the 3D card, so for that program processor is everything, and I have heard (which means it may not be so) that POVRAY runs ever so slightly faster on a P4. But I suspect the difference isn't enough that it will matter a great deal.
