I see the "glitch" at boot, but it doesn't seem to do anything detrimental. I've stayed away from Omega drivers in the past and have not had any success with them at all. Unfortunately, with Doom 3 I don't have the luxury of avoiding them anymore. I used Driver cleaner 3.0 (or 3.1?) after uninstalling the ATI drivers and rebooted. I installed Radlinker, and Multi-Res, skipped ATI Tool and installed the Omega Catalyst 4.5 drivers. So far everything seems fine.

also, a word of warning when using the cat 4.9 beta, don't use suspend or hibernate because when you come out of it the display looks like it's covered in static. I had to restart and then everything was fine. This is on a 4750 with the 9700, I don't know if other sagers will have the same issue.
