Voodoo M:60 Emachine M6809 same machine?

I was reading this was the same system made by Arima. I was curious and wondered if you could put the Voodoo motherboard into an emachine.. or the vid card... But mainly, im thinking I bet there is a M6810 on the way with that 128mg ATI 9700 everyone wants... Hmmm..the questions I ponder..

At anyrate you must admit getting a voodoo machine for 1600 all because it says Emachine on the badge isn't a bad deal

same machine more or less. Dunno if the emachine is upgradeable to the 860 (ati 9700 128MB and WSXGA) status.
What I'm trying to do is get a TARGA visionary 811 (same as the voodoo but with a64 2800+ mobile and WXGA screen.. everything else should be the same) and then try to upgrade the screen to WSXGA (I'll keep the mobile CPU). Fact is: nobody knows how to do it.
Another thing is that the Targa is available only in Germany and only in discount stores (!)... But I'll try to get one (dunno how but I will)...

I'll do . once I have figured out how to do it... shouldn't be difficult, the only unanswered question is wheter the stock arima k730 supports the wsxga display or it needs added cirtuitry-upgraded bios. I bet it works well... but I'm not sure.. sadly enough noone seems interested into giving me the brand - manufacturer of the m860 wsxga screen (of course they won't...) ... but I guess I'll find out sooner or later... Anyway I still have to purchase the stock 730 to begin with.. I opted for the Targa version.. it comes very cheap with the mobile cpu, DVDRW, 801g Wlan, and 512MB 1dimm memory. Swap the 4200rpm Hd for a 7200, add a 512Dimm and the only thing that still sucks is the display. We'll see.

i don't think wxga is that bad-it prevents you from getting too crazy with the resolution and therefore making stuff unreadable and damn slow.

Anacardo,
Are you in Germany or the states..or somewhere else? If your in the states will that machine work over here? Just curious, I thought they had different ac outlets, etc.. How much does the Targa machine come out in US dollars..along the same lines of the emachine? And what is the stock vid card that comes with it?

the stock vidcard is a 128mb M11 (radeon 9700). i got one pretty well configured to come out to ~$2500+. and as for the power problem, you could probably just buy an ac adapter for an emachines 6800 series since that's basically the same laptop but with a 64mb mr9600 vidcard.

Try www.ebay.de. I did a quick search and there were two brand new Targa Visionary 811's for sale.

Sinergy: I'm in Italy... not too far away, but as far as I can see the visionarys are out of stock.. or at least I couldn't figure out which lidl shops have one and which don't. Any help from some german friend?
As for the price is 1399 Euros taxes included (16%).. therefore since I have a Tax account number I can pay it 16% less.. which is quite cheap at least here.. As for the power adapeter.. well it should come with a universal power adapter... suitable for 210 - 220 and 240. It SHOULD.. don't take my word for it...
bassino: I did.. but why pay the same price for a used computer when you can have a new one instead??? (especially for me.. remember the 16% thing? )

Both machines I found at ebay were brand new with 3 years warranty. At least both sellers said so. I believe it would be hard to find the machine anywhere else since it was specially made for that single Lidl's campaign. I wish you luck for getting one anyway

Anacardo,
That sounds like a steal for you then if you can find it. I was all set to buy a 5690 but when I went to the store a 17 inch screen changed my mind. Now im looking at the ECS g900 or the sager 8790 again. I never realized making up my mind would be so difficult heh.

Oh I can run my dryer on 240 but our laptops run 110 .... Good luck sweetie!

couldn't we just agree on one voltage once and for all??? That's what international measuring systems should be meant for...

YOU SURE?? JUST FOR ONE CAMPAIGN???? That's crazy!!!!!! Why in the world should they create a special configuration, give it a model number and then sell it only FOR A LIMITED AMOUNT OF TIME IN A FEW SHOPS???? Oh well I guess they're crazy already to have their launch into a small part of Lidl in germany I guess...
Well.. I really hope the campaign goes on... Or just long enough to take my car and rush to buy one!!!! (or tell a few friends in germany to do so.. )

Lidl has done the same before. Those PC campaings are just to get new peolple in to the shops. They do those campaigns in several countries in europe at the same time so the volumes are quite big. Here in Finland the offer was in force for only one day in 28 shops and there were many people outside the door waiting to get one. If you cant get this machine, just wait month or two and they have even better machine to offer
