no sound when editing in Premier

I got a clip in the source window in Premier 6.5, and when I move it over to the program window, I get the video but no Audio plays. I see the audio file in the timeline but nothing plays.

The video in question was originally in .Vob format from a DVD, from a tivo dvd burner of a show. I transfered the .vob to .avi using a registered version of imtooDVd. The .AVI came out great and there is sound. I set my in and out and dragged it over to the program window.

Any ideas? I'm just learning Premier, and I'm on a 5660. I'm editing commercials for my boss' reel, as he is in the sunkist commercials that get heavy play on MTV.

Thanks for your help in advance!

How did you bring in the file, through firewire or what? Did you still have the device hooked up? If you have the device still hooked up through firewire___

sound

Well I figured out the problem, looks like I need to rip the sound too with a dvd audio ripper. my work has a TIVO dvd burner hard drive, so I burn shows onto it and I tried to re edit the .vobs that were coverted to .avi in Premier. I figured out that I needed to rip the sound too and paste the wav file with the video when i drag to the next window in Premier.
