Odd, apparently intermittent problem.
When I listen to CDs through my 5660, my headphones distort as though the CD input is being over-driven. Yes, I've checked my mixers (more below) and everything I can think of, no luck.
The kicker is that it happens *in RedHat* and in *Win98*. In Win98, I've checked my mixer, made sure the CD wasn't pinned, etc. My Master Volume is low/normal.
I'm in RH right now, and when I open Kmix (like the windows mixer), I can see that it's the same thing as windows. Interestingly, though, when I turn OFF the CD input entirely...I still get the "buzzing" overdriven sound and just no music. It doesn't matter how high or low the CD is driven, the distortion is there.
If I extract the CD and listen to it as an ogg/mp3 - no problem.
I find it odd that it's happening on both OSs.
Anyone ever seen this before?
Thanks.
