I think i will wait till you get it rustican so i can make sure its the right processor. I do like that it has extra cache compared to the acer 3200. but i need to see more pics of the computer and perhaps some benchies. aquamark anyone?

Will do good buddy. I'll be giving a full review with pictures and benches. So sit back and relax and let me take all the risk.

Mayaman2...no pics of the keyboard. Camera's in the car. The Fn key IS in the bottom-leftmost position and the Ctrl key is to its right. Saw some good pics in my online travels (while "shopping"). I'll see if I can pull up a link for ya.

Rustican: ordered 6/24 received 6/28. The only reason it took that long is cuz they don't deliver on weekends!

BLAZING! I play Rainbox Six 3: Athena Sword / Raven Shield daily. Guys with desktops are screaming, "stop throwing gas! The smoke slows my computer down to
like 20 fps!!".

Not mine! I blow throw the smoke and it just "keeps on ticking"!

Also does it have a ps/2 port and a dvi port. The latter would be useful for future animation work.

I believe it has neither
Hmm. that may be a problem. It would probably be hard to play dod as well since i am use to using my pink to hit the ctrl button, but i guess i could get used to it. Does it at least have a s-video out. For Dvd viewing and big screen gaming

PS/2 Port. No. DVI (Dont know what it is, but I don't see anything so labeled).

Keep'em coming! When I need a break from blazing past slower computers during online-gaming matches, I'll be sure to stop in here to help you guys make a decision!

It is a white maybe 1.5 inch port that looks similar to a vga port (monitor port) except it has a space and a box of 4 female connection.

on the back of the 8790 sager there is this port so you can check that out if you want. i have some pictures of the sager in my hypersonic gallery.

Hmmm...dont see anything that resembles that.

Hi Ken,

I'm thinking to order one from gamepc, but I am concerning about the heat from this laptop. I have powerbook G4, its like a hot cake that really burn my lap whenever I watch DVD or play game, even happen in normal usage during summer time.
Is the heat a problem with normal usage (web browsing, email...) on Mayhem G3?
and fan noise? always on?

thanks
Hmmm... It's no hotter than any other laptop I've had. (Are there any COLD laptops out there? LOL) Certainly bearable. I've been playing online games on it for hours and it's barely noticeable at this point. I don't keep it on my lap, but I would imagine that the heat output would not be comfortable in that situation.

Normally? No, not excessive. Actually, I can't say the heat is excessive at all. But what do I know? I owned a Compaq 2175us and it was just as hot.

Fan is quiet and not always on.

Hope this helps guys!

The centrino laptops may be "cold", but underpowered for my purposes. If they could pack more power into them and keep the prices reasonable they i may reconsider but that will probably be too late for me then. i need my laptop by the end of august.
Let me tell ya...I've been on this thing (obviously! LOL) for 2 days straight! I am kicking the competition's ass while online-gaming and everything is LIGHTNING fast. I had a P4 2.53Ghz desktop and it NEVER performed like this. (64Mb Nvidia Graphics card in the desktop).

Not ready to fill out that "30 day return" slip any time soon!
Is it as loud as the desktop? Your desktop would be awesome if you upgraded your graphics card to ati 9600 xt or better yet the 9800 xt. The best solution is the x800 but that is 500!
It's very quiet! My desktop was definately louder.
Very nice. The only computers i have been around that much are desktops so the laptops noise probably won't be an issue. Unfortunately it seems that the g3 doesn't have all the ports i want.
