Just got Dell Precision 650
SPECS:
2x 3.06Ghz Processors
2GB DDR
15,000RPM 73.4GB Seagate
QuadroFX 3000
WAS ON THE PHONE WITH DELL TECH FOR 2 HOURS (big surprise) AND THE TECH BASICALLY TOLD ME THAT HE COULD DO NOTHING TO HELP. I AM CONNECTED TO A CABLE MODEM AND HAD AN XPS FOR A YEAR THAT WORKED GREAT WITH A GIGABIT CARD (Broadcom netxtreme). HOWEVER, THE ONBOARD CARD WILL NOT CONNECT ABOVE 10MB (I PLAYED WITH DRIVERS AND CONFIGURATION). I EVEN INSTALLED THE NETXTREME BROADCOM PCI CARD THAT WORKED GREAT WITH MY XPS (AND DISABLED THE ONBOARD), BUT THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPENED (WILL NOT CONNECT ABOVE 10MB). I AM EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED, PLEASE HELP. I am on the EXACT same cable modem, with same cable, etc. This really doesnt make sense if it is a driver issue, becuase the same card that worked with my XPS is only connecting at 10MB with my 650??? Also, I went and checked the bandwidth and it was very good, but whenever i have more than one or two browser windows open it really slows down, which is how i even noticed that there was a problem in the first place.
thanks,
