They still require electricity. What do you think is flowing through those wires your dad's speakers are connected to?

As long as you install the optional hampster-bay, and make sure that your hampster is fed, and that it is on it's wheel running, you won't need any battery.

I hope you don't make these kind of jokes with your friends. A truly pathetic attempt at a joke.

I thought it was simply sound, yet now I realize I should have stopped to think. Everything requires power.
Anyway, they can't be using that much power. I can't see the 1" speakers on the mitac taking much more than 5 minutes from the battery life.

An update on my wireless experience. After repositioning my AP, I am finding that I am getting pretty good reception all around. I'll go back and revise my review to include this. All said and done, the only thing left now is the battery not being the best. Not bad at all...

Agreed.

I would also say that sounds about right. The battery drain should be next to nothing.

Wouldn't it make sense for a laptop's speakers to work the same way? Just a thought.

Oh of course they do very little but they do. Remember the old physics formula
power=voltage x current ?

And dont forget the mitac's super awesome 2watt subwoofer!

WHAT!?!? There's a subwoofer??
when mitac first started making the 8050, every one had a subwoofer. However, to save money during production, they stopped making them. You have one without a subwoofer.
heheh, that subwoofer is awesome, what are you talking about?? I gotta keep my volume turned all the way down so i don't wake the neighbors. Neways, about the heat issue, I agree the Mitac gets pretty damn warm underneath. Main reasons are the, cpu, M11 chip, and 855GME chip being really close to each other sharing that same aluminum sink. Plus there are no vent ports on the bottom of the unit at all. Only vent is the side vent for the cpu. Oh well. I haven't seen any overheating issues on it so far, so I'm sure the design should be fine. My g/f uses it 8hrs a day at work.

i'm typing this on my new mitac 8050. Wow! is all I can say.

Tight! you got it Tourney. congrats. hehehe
post #35 of 43
guys, I need help. two problems:
1.) left speaker doesn't work while right one does.
2.) I have 5 light blue lines running down my screen vertically. What the hell is going on?
errrrr..now that doesn't seem good. This was prebuilt? Were you doing any overclocking??
yes, prebuilt at rjtech.
give RIchard a call and see what he thinks. Is it still like that?? Did you reboot and everything?
yea. i'm real pist off. It's weird though; their not dead pixels because they are arranged in perfectly straight lines going down the screen. What number do I use to call richard? I tried their technical support line but no one picked up.
(800) 567 3458 try that number. Someonlese on the forum had that same line problem on their notebook. can't remember who
