These systems were configured at the exact same time, side by side.

Sager 5690:
3.4 P4
gig o ram
ati 9700 128ram
60G 7200rpm HD
XP home
4x dvd burner
15" SXGA+
total: $2215

Area 51m:
3.4 P4
gig o ram
ati 9700 128ram
60G 7200 rpm HD
XP home
4x dvd burner
15.4" WSXGA+
total: $3078

everything on these machines is identical except for the screens. tell me alien owners, what exactly are you getting for $863 besides a "W" and .4 inches?
Errr...

Add paint brother? The AW is painted. That should make things a bit more interesting.

There is no doubt the Sager is a better value...but not all things are about value now are they?

Close but i found out y u have lost the cash

#1 Take off Support on AW the autopsy
#2 Take off MS Works
#3 Add Paint to Sagar
#4 Add Gloss

now they are "relativly" even more so the same

then look at my above post and look how dumb u have made yourself.

oyah.. if u want to put dvd burner on mine. ass 110$ to PCT and 113 to AW still only 81$ difference

Looks ius everything. also who wants a laptop that sound like "sega" which died out in the hardware run since they couldnt develope hardware

^^^ nice freindly joke

in resonse to Devion: add paint and high gloss finish for $550 from PCT. Take a look at some pictures of these in the sager pictures forum, the paint job is awesome. I was comparing hardware and nothing else. that is still about $300 for "looks". If the alien eyes are worth it to you, then by all means be happy. That's all I have to say about that.

Thank you, Deutch420. finally someone else sees through all the madness.
If Alienware didn't paint em and mod the case for the eyes it just wouldn't be like an Alienware... but it would probably be in the neighborhood of a sager with a paintjob. To quote Craig, an Alienware is the
" I want what I want and I want it to look sexy!" option. That makes 2 times I've quoted that, eh Craig? I think I'm going to put that in my sig...

Long story short, there is no way i can get a mechine like this with similar, or even close mods that will benchmark similar numbers for a price within 200$ of what i spent. If you can show me otherwise, i would really appreciate it. Im still within my 30 day no questions asked return that PCT gives.. possible RMA if you proove me wrong. GL
post #89 of 120
Nice system, good price. How's it been treating you?
great... And honestly, i havent been able to find anything that slows this thing down . I ran COD at 1600x1200 with all options on (blood all the details...etc), on a 54.mbps wireless card, and it runs FLAWLESSLY at 40-60 FPS. Really havent thrown anything at it other than games, media, and some multi-tasking... but then again, i dont do much more than that... Great mechine, great price. if u ask me.. PCT highly reccomended. Oh, and how oculd i forget, NO stuck pixels, NO dead pixels.. mechine 100%.. BTW, when i got the lappy, the "fragile" sticker was not there. .. hmmmmm
post #91 of 120
Its been quite the obvious that the 5690 is the best bang for the buck going...Its got speed, power, great service through PCTorque, ect...

But the pricing that comes up on these boards all to often NEEDS to be put out correctly to be sure that those whom are doing research for a purchase get all they need to make an educated decision.

If you asked me would I have gotten a paint job if I had the choice? No, I probably would have spent the same money, just put the "Paint" money back into the machine for specs.

Again, the 5690 is a great machine, let's just get the facts out correctly. The AW if not too far off dollar-wise when we compare apples to apples.
so $300 is not too far off huh? w/e
No...actually it is not in my book. *talk to the hand*
post #94 of 120
lol Nice. I could use a Sager, but my Alienware does what I need. I havn't been able to get COD running since I upgraded to the go5700 (Slaps self), but I'll see how it goes. I WANT THE 9700 BADLY!!!
hee hee, ok Craig. Let's just agree to disagree and let this thread die. AW versus Sager is about as controversial as intel vs. amd, no one can win the argument. Peace
post #96 of 120
Ogre,

Much love brother...really. It's all good.

Glad to see the sky clear over here. Someone gonna close this thread?
fine dont that anything to me lol

So many things in this world compare with value/price.

Windows == Linux. Same problem.
Nitro RC cars. Same problem.
Ford == GMC. Same problem
AW == Sagar. Same problem

it what ever is really best for you at that time. For me AW has 1000000% better support help than PCT since where i live. having support in uk calms me down more than having in america speicaly when u read PCT poliecies about international orders.

Maybe 1day AW will do a plain boring case and called it "Botm" (hehehe) and drop the price 300$?
The only outrageous thing from PCT would be the panintjobs. $479, $21 under $500, for them to paint it for you. Does it really take $500 to paint something? :-/ Alienware, you get the colors for ... free? lol
