Internal WIFI on 5620?

I'm looking to eliminate the external antenna sticking out of my sager for internet (so I can have network access with the laptop inside my vanguard case mainly). Can I just use a mini pci card rather than the pcmcia? Does the sager have any internal antenna provisions (does it need any)?

None of the Sagers that I'm aware of come with the antenna for the wireless.

The Clevo 5600D has a wireless LAN module listed under options, so fingers crossed it eventually makes it to the Sager line.

Then again, 802.11b and 802.11a are both known to be severely lacking in the security department and are likely to be replaced by 802.11g or 802.11i in the near future anyway, so it might be best to stick to the PCMCIA in the mean time.

yes i love my 5660, but would love to have built in wi-fi (considering it was a good card) because it only has one slot and I have a Sprint wireless high speed data card and a wireless LAN card....cisci 350 aironet

So does the 56xx have a mini pci slot I can at least try one in?

When I did my memory upgrade on my 5620 from 256 to 512MB I noticed something that looked like another memory slot only a little different. it is almost identical to the modem card slot in a friend of mine's Dell inspiron 2650 laptop. I believe the modem in the inspiron 2650 is a mini PCI.

this slot is on the right hand side after you remove the keyboard and the metal cover under the keyboard [4-5 screws]. be very careful when you put the keyboard back sometimes it seems like its locked but it isn't and you can feel it by the amount of flex in the keyboard when you put pressure on various keys..
