Premiere 6.5 firewire problem

Guys having problems capturing from my camera with firewire on my 8887. When I start a project in premiere I get an error saying it cannot open my Windows DV driver. It says it is not OHCI compliant or something? Didn't have this problem with the same camera on my desktop. Any ideas?

I get that all of the time on my PC, Only thing I can Figure is it's Premere causing it.
Installing Premere 6 as well sometimes fixes the problem.

Its Premiere

I had to start capturing with MGI Videowave or even XP's movie capture then bring it into Premiere later

how do you guys export the video back to tape then? That's the main thing I need to do.

Yeah, I couldn't get Adobe Premiere 6.5 to work either. I also couldn't get Windows Movie Maker to make a file over 4gig even though I'm using NTFS. So I started using Pinnacle Studio 8. It works like a charm every time!

I don't go back to tape. I either go to DVD or to file for web streaming. Pinnacle 8 works great too, but it kind of sucks to have to do backflips through all these different packages to figure out which piece works in which one.

Re: 4 Gig file, this never comes up for me as I let XP Movie maker create different files based on that scene break thing. I think thats how it works. I might be wrong, but I think it creates different files.

Yeah, I didn't like the idea of splitting my files up. I like having one huge honking 13 gig file that I can tear apart and edit to my heart's desire. By the way, I use a Sony camcorder and I use the dv firewire to record in the data then I usually encode into XviD or DivX. I can't remember which one right now.

Fixed my problem, I had the kazaa-lite codec pack installed. As a hunch I uninstalled it and we are back working normal.

Premiere 6.5 works for me WIN XP Pro

You guys should check out Adobe's Premiere primer for DV and the Preparing for installation of Premiere 6.5, the OHCI compliant issue is discussed and It worked for me perfectly fine, no problems yet after 7 months,

Not to mention that there are lots of posts on Premiere and DV editing forums about this.....hence why Adobe actually posted a PDF file about this......

I dont have the link, but it is on the ADOBE page.....

hope this helps...
