Memory Upgrade Surprises!...

Hi, Good guy's!. I recently upgraded my HP. Pavilion ze5580us Lappy's Memory from 512 MB. to 1 GB. I get slightly faster boot-up times, and the system seems to be (slightly Peppier and Faster). I notice it, but it's hard to describe.....

anyway, I'm a hardcore Pessimist that has Norton System Works 2004 installed on my Lappy. The only utility that really interests me is "Norton Windows Doctor) (a Registry Cleaner), which i run every day, (since it seems like every time i delete ANYTHING, there are References and File Asociations left behind in the Registry that are NOT deleted, and can bite you in tha @ss.

So!!!, the day my Memory arrived by UPS. I ran Norton Win Doctor as usual...
(clean scan - no problems). Then i upgraded my Memory to 1 GB. and ran Norton Win Doctor again. (remember, i'm a Pessimist). LO AND BEHOLD the scan came up with no less than 109 problems!!!. (they were all missing Shortcuts, Missing File Associations , and Missing Active-X entries OF ALL THE PROGRAMS THAT I HAD DOWNLOADED, TRIED, PLAYED WITH, AND DELETED OVER THE PAST TWO MONTHS)!!!.

WOW, Seems like either Windows XP., or Norton System Works, is SWEEPING DIRT UNDER THE CARPET). So, after i upgraded to 1 GB. of memory, after i booted up, stuff got RELOCATED in memory, and the "carefully hidden problems" showed up!!!...

Hey, no problem. Norton Win Doctor fixed all the problems on the first try!.
but i wonder, I had explicitely Uninstalled all of those programs, and was very carefull to clean up the registry from all the stuff left behind.....

Can anyone recomend a BETTER Registry Cleaner (complete with BIGGER BICEPS, AND LOT'S OF UNDERARM HAIR). i know Windows SUCKS, and so does NORTON SYSTEM WORKS.....

Regards.....

I like RegSupreme, it has a deep clean option, tends to find pretty much everything. Free to try. Check it out at download.com

Thank's a Million!

Thanks a lot, guy's. I'll try both and see which one i like the most...

Oh!, and by the way, The original laptop memory was made by Hyundai, and i replaced it with Genuine American Made Crucial brand memory!. I then ran "Memtest" on it for 3 days straight with NO memory problems.

Mm.. Norton.

Uninstall norton. Install anti virus gold. its free, no cost to pay for subscription services either. Runs cleaner, less load on your system.

Run norton if you want viruses. I make $500 a week cleaning viruses off systems that have norton installed. Great for my wallet- bad for your laptop.
