I opened up aim and moved the thinger around, and look what followed!

Does this happen to anyone else? It used to be just one or two popping up at a time, but thats like a bajillion! They do go away however, I just don't like the fact that they come up at all.

He means those little blue dots. Perhaps the Matrix has you!

But seriously, my guess is that its 2D artifacting which is a result of overclocking too much. Or you maybe need to adjust the color settings, my contrast goes wierd sometimes and I just needed to crank the contrast down abit. Perhaps check into those.

and I repeat...

lol, I circled what I'm talking about, if you still can't see it, then I dunno what to tell you.

I haven't overclocked at all, I guess I'll try to adjust the color settings and see if anything happens.

It's weird. You can't see anything on the screen but when I printed from a laser I could see white dots in the background. Is that what you were referring to?

Sorta. They look like dead pixels, in the screenshot they're blue but they can be red or green too. Since they show up in the screenshot though I'm assuming they aren't dead pixels, but I don't know what else it would be.

just aim... there's nothing wrong with aim....

Looks like artifacting to me, try downclocking to reduce heat and see if it goes away.

i have the same problem, but the main time i notice that it happens...is basicly when im playing solitare or something....i took a screen shot since you can see it better on the one i took of it....and i havent done ANY overclocking either...its been like this since the day i got it from alienware...i havent called tech support or anything...because it only happens to me while playing solitare or such and it goes away if i drag a window over the top of them or something.

I can see the dots in the second one after they were circled and they are so hard to see as they are showing up dark blue on a black background. It definately looks like artifacting. I have seen this before several times when using LCD monitors and using the DVI output on my main system with some video cards but never under the standard 15 pin VGA connection. It also tends to get worse sometimes if I bump the refresh frequency up higher as well. On the laptop I am not sure since you are not overclocking it what is adding the interference but if I am not mistaken their is a similar DVI connection made internally in notebooks to get the video to the LCD display and if this is true it could be that you have a bad video card causing the interference. I have heard that even improperly shielded DVI cables on LCD monitors can cause similar interference as seen in the past on some Viewsonics LCD's.
