dvd-rw freezing

Thread Starter
I've read a lot of threads on this and can't figure out what the deal is with booting DVD-RW's (that i've burned). Regular CD's, SVCDs, DVD movies, etc work fine. Anytime I insert a DVD-RW, it just freezes and the orange busy light on the dvd player stays there. It may blink every once i na while to indicate activity, but when I try to explore that drive, the computer just freezes until I end the task. I'm using the 5680 and have tested this on other computers and the discs work fine. Specs are below. Any help is definitely appreciated!

3.2ghz w/ HT - 512mb ram - Radeon 9600 PRO - Toshiba DVDRW drive - Etc.

Thanks,
B

A few questions for you.

1). What is the media?

2). Did you burn the DVD-RW's on this same drive?

3). Have you tried this with a DVD-R ? Was it successful?

1). it is a COMPUSA 4.7GB DVD-RW

2). yes, i burned this disc on the same drive, and installed the content a while back from the disc. now everytime i try to read any dvd-rw, it freezes.

3). i have not tried a dvd-r. i will see if i can find someone with one to check results with that.

thanks for the quick response
