Should I go with the 4x DVD+burner or the CDRW/DVD combo? I was thinking about saving a little money and later on getting a higher speed internal desktop burner and a case so I can use it externally. I was told by a friend who builds computers professionally its better to use a burner just if you're burning and use another drive for everyday use. I can see the reasoning but is it flawed? Will either of them use up the battery faster with just regular use?
This is my first laptop and would be my first DVD burner. I have never burned a dvd or ripped one to hd. Plus the burner offered for the G3 is only a DVD+burner not a +/- so I'm leaning towards building an external...even though I'm not completely sure about the difference between the DVD+ and the DVD-.
Thanks for your help.
