Hi all-

This card reader reads and writes SD, MMC, Memory Stick Pro and SmartMedia types 1 & 2. I want to choose one of these types of media to use as a backup for documents, pictures, videos etc but I wanted to know if there is a BEST TYPE of memory to choose out of the 5 selections that I have? Also, I don't suppose there is a max memory card size that this reader would read, is there? I mean you can get these cards now all the way up to 1GB in size, would the reader still be able to read 1GB cards? Not that I'm going to buy one but just for future information.

Also, I know SmartMedia cards have the data storage area open to the environment (in other words it's not enclosed, you can see the storage area on the back of the card), are all the other memory types that I listed above do they have the actual storage area enclosed INSIDE the card? I figure that is a better way to go because your data would be more protected verses the SmartMedia route where the storage area is not enclosed on the card and could be easily damaged.

Also one other thing, when you insert media/memory into this reader, is your media/memory completely inside the reader or does a portion of the card physically stick out from the reader? As of today my notebook has been shipped so I don't have it in front of me to look at so thats why I'm asking.

Thanks again!
