What is your refund policy?
We offer a 30 day money back guarantee for all products, except memory and processors, which carry a 7 day money back guarantee. All shipping charges and a 15% restocking fee for non defective products are non-refundable. To request a refund, please send us an e-mail at refund@mwave.com or contact us by phone at 800-251-4648.

Unfortunately, some items are non-returnable for refund or exchange due to manufacturer's policies. Please review our complete return policy listed below:
ok, so it looks good here, but when you look down....

How do I exchange a defective item?

In the unfortunate event you receive a defective product, we do sincerely apologize. Please keep in mind that we do not manufacturer the components, therefore we have no control over the defective rate. However, we are here to help and will be happy to assist you with a replacement within the allotted warranty period.

Please contact Multiwave via e-mail at rma@mwave.com or by phone at 1-800-251-4648, along with the item and reason to be replaced, your invoice number, and purchase date. Or you can print out our rebate form, and fax it to us. Here is the rebate form location:

Unfortunately, the following items are non-returnable for refund or exchange due to manufacturer's policies: Software, Retail Boxed Processors, Notebooks, Blank Media Cartridges, Printer Cartridges, Minolta, QMS, Cisco, IBM, Sony, Intel, Tektronix, NEC and Hewlett Packard products.

Although we are unable to accept returns on the above items, the direct manufacturer will be happy to assist you with any necessary replacements.

I mean, teh price of their CL56 is about 350 less than everyone else, but they don't let you return it? even if it's broken? I think i might send them an email and ask, because their CL56 is branded Mwave, so maybe they'll allow returns for their products only.

Also, isn't it kind of strange that the upgrade from the 1.7 banias to the 1.7 dothan is $0.00. Here's the page http://www.mwave.com/mwave/viewspec....ria=NB-BA20074

15" SUPER XGA/ATI M11-P 128MB/MODEM/LAN/3xUSB 2.0/1xIEEE 1394 Details (PENTIUM M 735 (1.7G); INTEL WIRELESS LAN 2200BG; 1GB DDR (512MBX2); 60GB (5400RPM) HDD; DVD/CDRW COMBO; MS WINDOWS XP PRO) which is what i would get for 1653!

Anyone here dealt with mwave before (i know SOMEONE has to have ? or is there another place that is same price as mwave (i think internetishop is a little more)

EDIT: oh yeah, i also like the fact that you can get overnight next business day shipping for $43.50

aikeo was thinking about it, bump for him.

another forum member has bought from them and talked to mwave on the phone.
i was concerned with the ambiguity that they might not fix stuff that breaks, but after conversatiosn with them he seems confident that mwave would fix anything they could (components) within the 1 year warranty. anything else, they'd have to ship back to the manufacturer (mobo etc), which is stated in their policy. i'll probably still call to make sure if i end up ordering from them, but i'm pretty sure they're fine.

Just so long as they replace anything that goes bad within the 1 year period, that's fine for me:

Although we are unable to accept returns on the above items, the direct manufacturer will be happy to assist you with any necessary replacements.

what they won't do is let you return something and get your money back. a lot of people like the ability to preview a system and if they don't like it, return it within 30 days-- mwave will not do this for notebooks (with the items stated below bla bla bla). sucks i guess if you have no idea what you want, and want a free computer to preview for 30 days? me on the other hand i know what i want, so it doesn't really matter to me.

yeah their prices are cheap, probably because they have such things like no-return policies and can buy in massive bulk. even if i bought from a place like ibuypower, i wouldn't be getting anything more than a 1 yr warranty-- same as mwave. and mwave is a lot cheaper, so why not.

thats why i'm considering them, i haven't quite decided between the cl56 and 1557 yet though.

I've ordered from mwave numerous times with no problem. Never ordered a laptop from them, but I've ordered misc. computer parts and a few expensive digital cameras.

same, many expensive computer parts

Yes, a saleslady there told me that they have about 20 of cl56 in stock. i guess that's one of the reasons why their prices are cheaper than elsewhere.

I ordered a CL56 from MWAVE Sunday and It shipped yesterday after I faxed them my driver's license and credit card (front and back). However, before I ordered, I called them to clarify their return policy. They did say that you can return it if it is defective within a year. Hopefully it will be delivered today. My specs:

1.7Ghz Dothan
512MB PC2100 x1 (Yes, I called the tech guy and he said they put PC2100 in them) I am not sure if it would be worth it to put some PC2700 in it. Thoughts anyone?
40GB 5400RPM (Not sure what brand) Perhaps later I will get a 7200RPM one.

$1,434.xx 2nd day air. Not bad if you ask me. People are crazy to be paying 1600 and up.

thanks for posting, it's reassuring to see some others who think it's too good a deal to pass up.

2nd day air for that price, w0w!

shame about the memory speed, but what can you expect, i guess. on the site a 256 Mb stick costs +$15 and 512 is only +$65. the 855 chipset can support up to PC2700, which is always good to get if you can; do you know how much extra they charge for PC2700?

I agree with the guys above, I'm sure if it's broken within the 1 year, they'll have to fix it or send you a replacement. I'm sure they can just send the defective one back to Compal for a reimbursement and won't lose much in the transaction.

I know somewhere which sells *discounted laptops* who claim to match any price on the same model of notebook configured in the same way and give you free shipping...
I'm thinking of telling them about mwave

Do It! let us know what happens
unfortunately "thinking" is still the operative word from my last post...

debating the CL56 vs 3200 issue still
3200?
the Ferrari is cheaper than the CL56 from most places.
also, I really want the CL56 with a 2.0 Dothan, and I cannot upgrade to that at mwave...
oh-- right. yeah i guess mwave doesn't bother with it, thinking that their customers are looking for the best performance at the cheapest prices. $300 for 1.7-2.0 wouldn't really equate to that

ferrari looks great, but the batt life + lame red paint = cl56 for me

I already asked before ordered from mwave. They couldn't match that price and offered $50 discount instead
btw, i believe there is pc2700 memory not pc2100 in the cl56 though.
I should get my cl56 tomorrow, let's hope that is DDR333 and without dead pixels otherwise they are going to get trouble...

I posted this in another thread, but I didn't know if it was popular. I got FTP site info from Compal! I just emailed them and asked about newest BIOS and Drivers. A lady replied with their FTP info.

There is BIOS version 1.2 for the CL. (not sure what it does) They also have drivers listed.

Here is the info:

ftp.compal.com/sales/sales3/cl561

user: sales030
pass: sales030

Check it out!

Why did you fax them your driver's license???
I have made many thousands of credit card purchases over the internet, and I have ABSOLUTELY NEVER sent anyone my drivers license, or any information on it, other than my name and address.
I am sorry, but if a merchant asks me to fax my driver's license to them, the answer is NO, period. Never!
