There is BIOS version 1.2 for the CL. (not sure what it does) They also have drivers listed.

Here is the info:

Check it out!
Thanks

Well it is rather simple.

1. I wanted a CL56.
2. I wasn't going to pay more than I had to.
3. They weren't going to send me one unless I did.
4. I have delt with them before.

Whats the big deal?

I am sorry, but if a merchant asks me to fax my driver's license to them, the answer is NO, period. Never!

What they really wanted are to see your "real" signature and picture. So it could be any thing. It is unnecessary has to be driver license though. You can cover all the information excepted your name, picture and signature. And that's what i did

others do not share your opinion. with the heightened state of national security, i'm happy that a big company like mwave is going the extra mile to check out who they are shipping to. it's the little things that prevent large disasters from happening.

hehe, nothing significant sorry i just kind of came up with it.

i was watching NGE at the time, so names like Ikari, Ayanami, and Akagi were stuck in my brain. probably had something to do with it; i don't doubt it's a common japanese name.

at mwave, their prices are only $1 different if housebrand...by using the pc2100 to put in the cl56 that means they are too stingy ....

NATIONAL SECURITY!!!!! That is the funniest thing I have read I have read today!! What in god's green earth could an online vendor wanting to see my driver's license have to do with national security?????
I am sorry...there is a thing called PRIVACY, and a vendor asking for my driver's license is violating my privacy.
Do this for me...call your credit card's 1-800 customer service number and talk to a rep. Ask them "does an on-line vendor have the right to request a copy of my driver's license prior to running the charge or shipping the item"???
I would be stunned if they don't tell you that they have never heard of such a practice. As I said, I have bought many thousands of items online. Nobody, ever has asked me for my ID.
They have the right to ask for:
- Bill to and ship to being the same or the ship to listed with the c. card. co.
- The 3 or 4 digit code on the card
- The customer service number on the back of the card
- card holder's name, address and phone number
That's about it. When they have that information, they have met the credit card company's requirements for the purchase, and they are covered.
Has anyone else ever heard of any vendor anywhere asking for a copy of a driver's license??? Birth Certificate??? Passport???
I am sorry, but that is preposterous!

I dont think thier policy is too unreasonable. With the amount of internet and credit card fraud out there, i wouldnt be suprised if you start seeing more aggressive policies like this. Maybe they got stung by something they didnt like and changed thier policies?

I am going to call MWave (or anyone can) and ask if this is their true policy.
I suspect a possible scam.

Ive been ordering from mwave for at least 10 years now. And i know plenty of other ppl that have done the same. I would not expect a scam at all. Its just added policy to protect themselves.

just ignore him. he has no idea what he's talking about. it only spurs on the amazing stuff that pours out of him when you try to engage it.

what's the big deal? just give them your driver's licence lol....there's not much they can do with it.
I think asking for a drivers license is a bit much...

aamsel has a point, I think national security is BS, or at least vastly overblown. Protecting the rights of citizens is very important. When the state is able to arrest people on suspicion of terrorism you have a problem.
Although driver's licenses are not a big deal, it is the principal of the thing. That said, I cannot fault them for trying to cover their a$$ from fraud... I guess it is a personal decision, I wouldn't fax them my license tho!
