it wouldnt matter unless you need 3 USB devices goin at the same time. the 8790 is stuffed to the brim with connections and hardware. the 47xx series is more about what's essential yet still kick ass (hence the price difference).

Actually, if you configure the AX7 (Hypersonic's 4750) versus their GX7 (Their 8790), the AX7 is more expensive unless you get a second HD for the 8790. So I don't know where you're getting that info from.

well ... im talkin about sager not hypersonic. go to pct and compare the 4780 with the 8790. its quite a bit cheaper. so i reason that the 4750 will be similarly priced, but we really dont know yet.

i just checked out hypersonic and the gx7 is over $400 more expensive than the ax7. so should we expect 4750 to be ~2000 if 8790s is ~2400?

actually it may work if it has a ps/2 port. so i can have a mouse, external hard drive, and wacom board if necessary. And so i can use my microphone for online gaming.

AMD has decided to stick with Socket 754 for use in mobile applications as far as their plans look ahead. This means no FX or any dual-channel Athlon 64 mobile processors.

The lack of a dual-channel memory controller for mobile Athlon 64's has an impact on performance. But the high level of L2 Cache (1024KB on Mobile/DTR) does have a way of smoothing out the performance differances between the Mobile/DTR and AMD's Socket 939 dual-channel (non-FX) processors.

is this cache present on the acer ferrari 3200's processor. I have read that it only has 512 kb of cache.

not sure, but i think since its an older 2800+ model it could have the 512k instead of the meg

Acer Ferrari's 3200 uses AMD's low-power mobile Athlon 64, which has a TDP of 35W but only 512KB of L2 Cache.

The Sager 4750 uses DTR and can use Mobile Athlon 64's which have 1024KB of L2 Cache.

I thought of another device that may use the usb 2.0 port. A keyboard. Although my current microsoft natural one uses a ps2. Its more that 5 years old but hasn't broken on me yet!

Isn't this the same model that is used by the hypersonic AX7?

As posted in another thread, I saw Sager's advertisement of the 4750 in "Laptops" magazine, and if I remember correctly, it was priced at ~$2000 for a 3000+ CPU, 60gig 5400rpm HD, and 512mb RAM.
