Thanks alot! Finally got the thing back to normal.

The STOCK installation of the bluetooth software was soooo bad. However ACER is configuring it, they're doing it way wrong.

I had nothing but errors, problems, and connectivity issues with the bluetooth.

As soon as I re-installed XP fresh... the bluetooth works GREAT!

My P900 phone provides a perfect GPRS modem no matter where I go, VIA bluetooth. It connects at about 56k.

For anyone thinking of using their P800/P900 with the Ferrari, it works great!

oh . it treats zipped files as possible virus

is the wallpaper more than 1 file?

Rince - It's an actual install since it has an integrated calender and automatically changes the wallpaper every month. Both the .exe and the .zip were returned. I could send you a few of the pics, but you wouldn't have the calender then. Hopefully someone with some webspace will speak up.

Cardpunk - I have been using the stock BT set-up without problem. Both my SE Z600 and iPAQ 2210 work without any trouble at all. What build do you have? Mine is 1.4.2 Build 10. I also noticed Acer removes the BT tray icon. Launch it manually, and I bet your troubles will go away.

Are you sure? I haven't received anything yet. Are you sure you've sent it to the correct address (notebookforums.comATskewl.net (replace AT with @))?

Startup Sound

Can someone email me the startup sound. I have a Ferrari 3200 and the first thing I did (which I always do) is blow away the system and start from scratch. The geniuses didn't put the startup sound anywhere on the CDs that I can find...

aferrari@chodu.com

BTW, I have a copy of the service manual in case anyone needs it..

Hi,
Like a couple other people here, I no longer have my Ferrari 3200 startup sound. I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me out. Thanx!

If your having issues I found this solution here - http://forum.skype.com/viewtopic.php?t=14646
Explains all the SP2 issues to do with Bluetooth, as it seems although markedly improved from SP1 bluetooth - M$ still can't get it right. The windoze drivers need to be disabled, they don't even support headsets!

FIX FOR ACER FERRARI BLUETOOTH ON WINDOWS XP SP2

1. Before installing the Acer drivers UNINSTALL any Bluetooth adaptors/software (To unistall hardware Rightclick My Computer -> Manage -> Device Manager. Under 'Bluetooth Devices' right click on each device (There maybe 2) and choose uninstall.

2. Now disable bluetooth physically with the button on the front of your Ferrari.

3. Rename the SP2 bluetooth driver Bth.inf file:

(When you rename the file, you prevent Windows Plug and Play PNP from using that INF file to install the Bluetooth driver that is included with Windows XP SP2.)

3a. Click Start, click Run, type c:\windows\inf in the Open box, and then click OK.

3b. Right-click Bth.inf, and then click Rename.

3b. Rename Bth.inf to Bth.bak, and then press ENTER.

4. Install the third-party Bluetooth software (The acer widcomm drivers)[/quote] and then Re-enable your Ferraris bluetooth.

Enjoy a simple and working solution
