I guess I lucked out with getting my lap top exactly two weeks after ordering. I've heard of a few people getting really long delays. Best of luck to you, and godspeed.

*I just got my new digital camera in, so hopefully this weekend I will get my pictures taken and put up.

yay... my laptop is delayed again. this time they said that the laptop encountered problems in their 72 hour burn in and they had to replace the hard drive. so i got to wait at least 3 more days for them to ship..
that makes shipment out on monday.

its a shame that im going back home on wednesday and if it ships on monday, i wont get it... so my dad is really pissed right now. he wants me to cancel the order because he doesnt want to spend anymore money for it to be shipped back home. i know if he cancels it, i wont be able to order another laptop for a long time... what do i do now?

this "customer satisfaction is our number one concern" is one big f*cking lie.

I have a few options now...
-change shipping address back to my home address but i may have to pay 130US in taxes which i dont want to pay
-make them refund me the amount of money that will cost me to ship this laptop home after it arrives at my relatives house
-make them give me free next day air shipping which costs 60 more so i doubt theyll do this
-cancel and wait another hella long time for a laptop

Man, these delays are killer. Sorry to hear about your poor Ibuypower experience.

As you can see, the screen is pretty nice and there is no Ibuypower logo on there. There was one stuck on the wristpad, but I moved it to the power brick.
We could see.. if we could access your hard drive...

unfortunately for me, they didnt agree to any of my demands...

the thing is even though i expected this from ibuypower and i knew they werent that great of a company, i still proceeded to make my purchase with them.

i knew the risks but i still gambled and the outcome wasnt so great and now it suppose to ship today... i just hope there wont be any more problems. and now i got to pay an extra to get it shipped back to my home address. what was the total weight of the box that your laptop came in? just need to know so i can pay my cousin to ship my laptop back.

well on the bright side, its nice to see that you didnt have problems with it and your laptop looks great and now im just gonna try to wait patiently for mine...

slick looking laptop it is indeed

two questions,
does the laptop feel flimsy when you hold it?
and do u know what kind of wifi card is in it?
edit: n/m i just read your post in another topic and it answered my questions

The computer flexes a little bit, if I actually try to bend it. And the back of the lcd bends when I push it, but my Sony does that too.

The wifi card...It's not intel; that's pretty much all that I know. I bought an intel one from techonweb, and will be swapping it out, and hopefully selling my old one.

Update on my card reader...
The card reader works, but when you take the card out and put it back in, it will not work until a reboot. This makes file transferring from my camera a little bit more annoying
post #31 of 53
but do you "safey remove" it before taking the card out? Windows is picky about that and you have to click on the "safely remove hardware" icon on the bottom right.

well i tried to set it so i have to do the safely remove card stuff, but it just keeps setting it back to the original settings. I was hoping that if I "safely removed the card" it wouldn't have these driver issues
post #33 of 53
Interesting, I know I don't have to do the remove hardware thing with my 7 in 1 USB reader. I haven't tried the built in card reader in mine though since I use Smart Media in my camera and CF in my MP3 player. I think my brother uses the SD stuff in his camera, I'll try to borrow his card and try it out.

Update on Card Reader:

I just installed the drivers for teh aopen 1557A for the card reader. Apparently the G drivers were not working correctly, because now my reader seems to be working fine

Update Wireless Button...

On Friday night, I installled my new Intel 2200 wireless card. Now the wireless button works!!! Also, instead of showing the Pentium M logo before Windows startup, it shows the Centrino logo.

Geim and PeterHoang,

You guys have any new updates about your computers?

Update

yea....thank god...1 day short of a month, they shipped out my order last night, last week they had my "dvd burner on back order", they gave me so many reasons to delay this computer, it better be good, thank god i got 3 day air on it, but yea...they're finally shipping...

i got the targus backpack though...the sports deluxe or whatever in platinum, very cool, its kind of wide, but if i'm gonna have books then i don't really mind. i also got the linksys wrt54g. i downloaded free firmware from sveasoft, i dunno how that will fair, and you bought the intel 2200 wireless card? thats cool that it shows up centrino at the beginning...i might want to buy it now because of that ...oh well, my package is supposed to arrive by thursday, i'll tell you all about it then

sweet, only one more day of anxiety.
well it arrived my cousins house in CT the day after i left so he went ahead and shipped it to me the next day. even though i left specific instructions and more than enough money for him to use UPS with insurance, he still used parcel post with no insurance or tracking number... i have a very bad experience with parcel post in the past.
Im somewhat worried that something might happen to it.
i should recieve it by this coming saturday at the latest ... maybe even today at the earliest.
