Go Sager! Lol, and I agree, we all want more... But wow I think seeing the sagers has made me realize just how much more I could get, lol, for a lower price (thanks to PCTorque)! Good stuff to say the least.

Hmm... that's so weird. I have had the 8886 shut off from the battery dying several times during the review and it always come back on as soon as I plug it in and hit the on switch. I have the settings in windows for power management to Always on (so all of the things for ac and battery all say never, lol)... Maybe you should make the "go to standby" option say never when on battery... But still, that shouldn't happen. I can't think of what would cause it, so I can't think of how to remedy it... I wonder if Sager has any clue what would cause that to happen. I certainly have seen NO problems from the 8886 I have... and I've been pushing it pretty darn hard, lol.

If you removed the AC power, the Li-ION battery, AND the CMOS battery all at the same time for a few minutes, put them back in and it still didn't boot it may physically have a problem. Give Sager tech line a call today for repair or any advice.

Under the keyboard in the 8886. Refer to the review section on how to get into it and make sure you remove all 3 forms of batt/power for a couple minutes and if that's the problem, it will take care of it.

Well I got my laptop back from Sager on monday, it turns out that they replaced the motherboard, so I'm assuming my 9000 went out.

Found the cmos battery

Found the cmos battery on my 826 under the keyboard as you said

trouble is, it is perminantly attached to the mother board

how can i drain that now ?

thanks

Nothing is permanent =) Is it soldered? I've never seen one without it being able to be removed, you looked for a method of release? SOmetimes, it snaps off or part of it slides apart to release it.

Its looks perminant

It is soldered to the board, and the clips are tack welded to the battery itself

I have been building PC systems for about 10 years so i an not a newbie really, but this battery does not seem to be able to be removed.

cant find any documentation to see if it has a drain jumper either.

I would think there would have to be an easy way to clear the CMOS given the case. Give one of the techs at Sager a call Monday and they should be able to hook you up with the procedure. Make sure you identify yourself as capable.

The laptop can be reset by removing the Li-ion battery, AC adpater then pressing and holding the power button until the lights blink. This method was relayed to me by a Sager Tech.

Oh no, from what I was told 15-20 seconds was all it would take. If you put the power back to it and there's still no response after 2 minutes of holding it and then trying to boot, it's not going to take care of this. When did you buy it, where, and how long of a warranty did you get on it? If you're out of the warranty period, I'll find out for you what would be the best step to take from here. I'm assuming from the post you're symptoms are in line with the original problem?
