There is a light to indicate the battery is charging, its the middle light on the light bar when you open it up. It glows an amber color.

Can you comment any on the SXGA+? Normally, do you leave it at 1024x768 or the higher res? How does it look at the higher res? too small to use every day? How does the contrast/brightness look when you're watching a DVD?

Thanks!

Also are the colors vivid and stand out nicely or are they washed out like others have said. Maybe it depends on the angle your looking at the screen, don't know? Give me the info on that LCD.

I love the SXGA+, the size is just right. It looks good with everyday applications and with DVDs, not as good as a widescreen laptop but i do other things on a laptop than DVDs. Its great having so much room on the screen, I have no trouble seeing any of it. The colors are good, its better than my CRT monitor, looks more sharp.

ALSO: The screen is plenty bright, on the brightest setting I think it is too bright so i turn it down alittle.

I keep it at the 1400x1050 resolution, its ok at 1024x768

I leave it at 1400X1050 all the time except in games and then I use 1024X768. 1024X768 looks a little blurry to me in windows due to the scalling, but in games you can't really tell a difference. My last laptop had a 1600X1200 (that's a little small) resolution so 1400X1050 isn't that small to me.
