My first M6805-Questions

Thread Starter
Hi,

I'm new here at the notebook forums. I just upgraded my VERY OLD Fujitsu i-series laptop to the eMachines M6805, and IT'S INCREDIBLE! Never had a laptop that would play new games.

Anyway, I'm wondering what overclocking can be done right off the bat, if any, both the CPU and the graphics. Also, I haven't opened the laptop up yet and from pics I've seen, it appears I'll be able to upgrade the graphics via a mini AGP, but can anyone confirm that this is true? Finally, I've been having problems with my USB Logitech wireless keyboard & mouse. I've only been using the mouse, the keyboard is broken. For some reason, unlike my desktop, when I move the mouse, it takes about 5 seconds for the computer to respond to the mouse movement. Does anyone else have this prob?

I'd appreciate the info,

Thanks.

1. Most m6805 users are reporting 2-2.1GHz, but I have had no first hand experience with the 3000+. I have a m6809 that I do 2.2GHz with even after lowering the voltage to 1.3. The GPU and memory are VERY overclockable. I normally run mine at 425/230, but have seen some users reporting as high as 475/245. Stock is 300/200.

2. The GPU is not upgradable. Perhaps what you saw was the mini-pci WiFi card.

3. Sorry, I have no input on the moush rate. I use a USB MS trackball on mine sometimes, and it works the same as it does on my desktop.

My 6805 is in the market for a good small wireless mouse. I really like the engineering design of the Kensington model that has the USB receiver stored inside the mouse compartment. I also saw a couple other models that have rechargeable Li-Ion AAAs. Anybody have a source for these bad boys (preferably with the features combined)? Thanks.
