Gah, I hate technology sometimes.

the angles really aren't that bad, but I guess you could make a case for it if you're moving it around a lot.

Hmm. Interesting.

I have my Asus W1 arriving today. Big reason I am upgrading to that from my M6n, is that I wanted the WSXGA+ screen vs the wxga. Although, the screen is very sharp, its a samsung monitor.

I am going to miss a few of the features on my M6n that the w1 doesnt have. But, the screen size is all subjective. We shall see how long I keep my W1 for, hehe.

And- whomever put "compaq" and "asus" in the same sentence, ooh.... man, the Asus' have far superior components on the internals. Unfair comparison, I think.

See the screens before you buy though- or be like me, buy one, use it for a month, get an offer on it, trade up... and eventually get the laptop you want!

Klas - It sounds like you ended up keeping your ASUS. I have also gathered that you have adjusted to the widescreen. I am on the verge of buying a M6BNE and wondered if you could expand on what happened to change your mind? You mentioned that it felt big - Still feel that way? Just curious what your thougthts are a few weeks after purchase? Thanks for the insight.

klas, it looks like you have ended up selling both the CL56 and M6. In retrospect, which do you prefer more? You flopped around a lot so it's not quite clear (you disliked the CL56 when you had it, then wanted it back when you got the M6; eventually liked the M6 as you stuck with it). Which one is a more solid notebook? Did you appreciate the style of the M6 that much more to sacrifice the power of the CL56 or were they about equal in power to begin with?

sorry it didn't work out for you, klas.

Always difficult to choose between the M6Ne and the CL56

klas, do you have a chance to get back to this?
or anyone else capable of answering these questions?

oh wow, your brought my really old post. Sorry I didn't notice it at first because I stopped reading anything related to M6NBe ever since I sold it a few days ago. It's been a great laptop to me and I miss it, although mostly due to lack of any computer right now at my desk, not even a desktop.

I liked CL56 for it's size, but I couldn't stand limitted vertical angles and M6Ne was much better in that aspect. As I mentioned in my brief review I was worried about hating widescreen laptop. It looked bigger, and resolution seemed small but I got used it very fast and can't imagine going back to regular one now. As usual it's a matter of preference, so you won't know what you really want until you actually try it yourself. Hope this answers your questions.
