Good time of the day
A few days ago I have installed Windows 2000 Pro instead of Windows XP Pro. But the power control menu doesn't change my pentium M's frequency as XP did. Is just keeps it at max. So the battary runs out pretty fast. I was just wondering if I need to installl some additonal software...
Waiting for your responce. Thanks.

I have not been able to get Windows 2000 Pro to correctly adjust my power savings either.

Why did you switch?

Well, there are several reasons why I like 2000 more than XP. But I will return to XP only if I am sure that the power problem is impossible to solve. I have also lately installed Windows Server 2003 and it worked great, including the power control, but it had that problem when you go to internet it causes an RPC shutdown which makes your coumputer reboot in 60 seconds. Everything looked like MSBlast Saser Worm, but it wasn't found on my computer at that time. I didn't want to brake my head trying to solve that problem and quickly installed Windows 2000.
By the way, on my Lappy #2, which has PIII there is a special Speed Step Applet which controls the CPU power settings. That Applet works fine even with Win 98. So I thought maybe there is a simillar program for pentium M?
