Sneak Peak at Dell's Planned Notebook Roadmap

Thread Starter

Future planned notebook models have been highlighted for your convenience with emphasis on the keyword 'planned' since Dell often changes the model numbers prior to introduction.

Dell Diag v1236 that contains this splash screen can be downloaded from the above link.

Doesnt look like the 8600 has a newer model coming out soon, GOOD, cause my 8600 hasnt even come yet. its been in that damn "boxing stage" for 2+ days now
post #3 of 16
it take a max of 3-4 days in the stage. i know just how u feel i odered a Axim X30 a week ago and that was the longes stage. damn i know just how u feel man. they is talk about other PDA that suppost to come put july or aug and i feel like returning this one but i dont know. this new on is going to have VGA screen (this is the next tech that people are waiting for on PDA, for does of you that dont know). Im going to say with it for the 21 day if anything happens im just going to return it. I hate feeling like this.

Anyway i dont think does new system are going to come out till PCIe is out. But good eye u have i never really stopped to look at things like that. If hard to come by info on new upcoming dell products.

they have been looking for info but is so hard to come by just look at the people at aximsite trying.

anyone know when any of the 9110 or the 9200 is going to be released anytime soon? cause i dont want to splash out anything for a 9100 now if a new one is going to be out soon.

Sakor would know, but he's not here. Even If he was, I doubt he would be able to tell us.

He did say to expect them around Sept/Oct.

I have been doing a print smat printer roll out at the Bank of America, in Fl and I was talking to one of the Bank of America IT personal and they are going to roll out dell on 2 different Dell Laptops one is a Desktop replacement and the other is an ultralight. They are suppose to be released by Dell sometime in the next 2 weeks. Now I cant be sure if that is true but take it with a grain of salt.

Dell's D810 and M70 have been predicted for so long now. Dell always puts these model #'s in there. FOr example, the 9100 series was in the list for almost 6 months (or longer) and all everyone did was make predictions. Take this all with a grain of salt.

DELL-sakor1's predictions on non-Pentium M notebooks were for October/November.

non pentium-m as in AMD chips?

Come to think about it, Dell is a cheap computer company, and it is kind wierd for them not to sell any AMD product.

it's probably because dell and intel have some sort of "special" relationship, perhaps deep discounts on intel chips

if true however, i think the only real winner here is intel and not dell

I used "non-Pentium M" to refer implicitly to possible successors or competitors to XPS/9100, as distinguished from Pentium M notebooks (such as I8600/D800/M60). There was also talk about 17" screens.

Yes, Dell has a close relationship with Intel, which is actually beneficial to Dell. Dell had the Dothan processors available in their laptops the first day they came out.
It greatly benefits Dell because they are able to get the processors for extremely cheap, hence allowing them to make the pricing on their computers also extremely cheap.

Anyone knows tentatively when the dell Latitude D810 will be out? i need to get a new laptop soon and i would rather wait for another month or two instead of splashing out on a new laptop now when something new is just over the horizon, in this case the horizon seems to be very blurry.

dont hold your breath typically you would find sneak peak benchmarks and pictures way before the anything is out i know for a fact the 700m is next in line because the 600m has been the only system in the lineup that hasnt gotten a refresh but is listed to be replaced the 8600 would be the other but doesnt seem to have any successors other than an equally equiped D810
