I wonder if this means don't use the Sony batteries in this notebook?
I would not recommend trying it. 1.5 V is a big swing in terms of this type of equipment, it's difficult to know what kind of loads the circuitry can handle, or if there are internal protection diodes to protect overcurrent on sensitive devices that draw power. you might be able to attach the load for a bit and observe if the battery got overly hot within a short timespan, but since the L-Ion is kind of an explosion risk this is probably a bad idea.

Thanks Aikeo... I have decided to give the battery back to my friend before ever trying it! It would be nice to have an another battery for free but not at the expense of damaging my new notebook!

heheh, yeah. that'd be an expensive experiment

if the voltage/current draw were exactly equal though...

What is bluetooth useful for?

And don't lots of laptops have second batteries that go where the cd-rom goes? Isn't the optical slot standard? Why cant you just buy a second batter from any company?

how much is the part?

No wonder how getting into network systems can be so easy for anyone with some knowledge. Same user, same password. Same folder, almost the same username and password. Or maybe they want those things (at least this one) to spread through the net. It's a good list of compatibility.

I have a little experience in electrical circuits, so, is it true that in computer electronics, it's better to use less power than higher power? and in motors, it's better to use more than less? (Obviously the ideal is to use the same specs).

Now, something I have no idea: even if the mAh is the same and the voltage too, can the design make a difference? (I don't know, diodes and this stuff)

And thanks rincewind. Priceless information... I bet 99,9% of the resellers don't have any idea of exchanging the CL56 parts.

So you guys think if we can replace the lcd with one of these xga screens?
Definately - The question is finding a dealer/retailer prepared to sell it to you. Then you also dont have the luxury of finding response time / contrast ratio / viewing angle reviews either.

Thats is some nice info Rincewind
In Denmark the Cl56 i could find goes under the brand Zepto (They have confirmed that its an MCL56 Basis model... From there i can choose to get an internal bluetooth(on the cost of them removing the internal modem).. The price for this is about 70€..
hmm that's itneresting i'm sure someone would like to buy bluetooth if it was possible

I just got a bunch of accessories from compal Taiwan when my coworkers got back from their business trip. They said they couldnt get a BT module or a modular bay battery from compal. They didn't even know what they were talking about when they asked them for these parts. Though later one of the technicians said that BT was just not available for the CL56.
I ended up just getting some extra CL56 batteries and ac adapters only.

Bluetooth
Bluetooth USB Adapter (Dongle) (270002) (+ kr 396,00)
indbygget Bluetooth "fjerner modemet" (Znote4xx0) (270000) (+ kr 496,00)
The top one is ofcourse an external modem... the bottom one translates to:
"Build-in Bluetooth "removes the modem" (Znote4xx0) (270000) (+ 70€)" roughfly

its from www.Zepto.dk(scandinavian company) under their Znote 4200 ( Cl-56 machine, they actually confirmed when i checked Unfortunently its their own product numbers, so that wouldnt help much, but that must prove that you in fact can get bluetooth build in...

Sorry... might have misused the Quote, since its from a www page, not an actual quote from this forum :\
Im new to forums so please excuse me

Btw... i have tried searching the forums for what kingston memory to choose, but failed to find the answer... Would i be able to use the Kingston Pc2700 CL2.5 (KVR333X64SC25 /512) Or should i get The Kingston Pc3200 CL3 (KVR400X64SC3A /512) ????
The Pc2700 one is 2.5v and the Pc3200 should be 2.6v... i guess this makes a difference???
The reason why i ask, is that pc2700 one is 20% cheaper to buy myself, rather than through the notebook shop.. I assume that its the pc2700 one i need(if it is SODIMM 200 as i found on this forum somewhere)

Can you help me out there(wouldnt want to open a new post, since im sure its already asked for... i just cant find it :\
